Bring your bird club together with Trip Tick
Club year lists, friendly competition between members, and a free talk or newsletter article for your group. Trip Tick is built by a UK birder, and we’d love to help clubs get more out of their records.
Three ways we can help your club
Club leaderboards
Set up a leaderboard for your club and invite members. Everyone’s Life, Year, Month and Last 30 Days totals sit side by side and update as they log — perfect for a friendly year-list race.
A free talk
We’ll give a short, relaxed talk at a club meeting — in person where we can travel, or online by video call. Ideal for an indoor meeting night.
Newsletter articles
Need content for your newsletter or website? We can write a piece on keeping records, patch listing or getting started — written for birders, not a sales pitch.
How a club leaderboard works
Create the leaderboard
A club organiser creates a leaderboard in Trip Tick and names it after the club.
Invite your members
Share the invite link by email, WhatsApp or in your newsletter. Members join with their own Trip Tick account.
Watch the totals build
Every trip a member logs updates the table automatically. Switch between Life, Year, Month and Last 30 Days with one tap.
Leaderboards are part of Trip Tick Premium. If your club would like to run one, get in touch first and we’ll talk through what would work best for your members.
What the talk covers
Talks are friendly, around 20 to 30 minutes plus questions, and shaped around your group. Typical topics:
There’s no charge for the talk. If we’re travelling a long way, we may ask the club to help with travel costs — we’ll always agree that up front.
Questions from clubs
Do members need to pay?
Logging in Trip Tick is free forever. Leaderboards are a Premium feature — talk to us about your club and we’ll find what works.
Can we bring our club records across?
Yes. Send us your spreadsheets and we’ll convert them free — each record needs a species, date and location. See how switching works.
Is it only for UK clubs?
Trip Tick works worldwide, and talks can be given online anywhere.
Does it replace county recording?
No. Keep submitting records to your county recorder and schemes like BirdTrack — Trip Tick is your personal and club record alongside them.
