Introducing Leaderboards — compete with your birding friends

Our biggest release yet is here. Leaderboards bring a bit of friendly competition to your birding — invite friends, and see exactly how your totals stack up.

A live leaderboard — tap between Life Total, This Year, This Month and Last 30 Days and the standings update instantly.

What’s new

Leaderboards track four totals at once — Life Total, Year Total, Month Total and Last 30 Days — and you can switch between them with a single tap. The table updates instantly, so as you and your friends log trips, the standings shift in real time.

How to get started

Open Leaderboards from the main menu, create a board, and invite friends by sharing a link — no complicated setup, and nobody needs to already be following each other in the app. Anyone who joins is added to the table automatically as they log sightings.

Share the standings

You don’t need an account to view a leaderboard — share a read-only link with anyone, and they can see the current standings without signing up. Perfect for a birding club, a WhatsApp group, or a friendly rivalry with your local patch buddies.

Why we built it

Birding is more fun with other people, and totals are more motivating when there’s someone to compare them against. Leaderboards turn the numbers you’re already logging into a bit of harmless competition — nothing changes about how you record sightings, it’s simply a new way to see them.

Leaderboards is part of Trip Tick Premium and is rolling out to everyone now. Full details on the Social & Sharing page.
